Sandie Wollasch's voice swings somewhere between Karen Carpenter, Kate Bush and Rickie Lee Jones, but always finds itself with "Sandie". The music moves light as a feather between pop and jazz. One would not want to deny a sound-aesthetic proximity to De-Phazz. Over the years, producer Pit Baumgartner has established his electro-organic music collages.

On "Economic Poetry" he uses the same technique for the lyrics; lyrical quote-splinters of contemporary literature are condensed into pop songs... "better pay the poet". Heard it all before?...of course, or by no means. Baumgartner's understanding of art refers to a common " topsoil", from which, however, different species of plants sprout again and again...in music as well as in literature.

The CD is a lovely gatefold CD with nice artwork. If you love De-Phazz, Quicksand is a MUST HAVE!

about

Phazz-a-delic Hamburg, Germany

… the roots of Phazz-a-delic date back many years, when the two friends Haluk Soyoglu (founder and label manager of Mole Listening Pearls, 1996-1999) and Pit Baumgartner (mastermind and producer of De-Phazz) started to create a music style, which has been described as “lounge music” in 2001 both founded their own new music label “Phazz-a-delic New Format Recordings”. ... more
